This episode is brought to you by Rolling Stone 500

In the mid-2000s, few people were more famous than Britney Spears. But as she began to stumble in her personal life, the price of the public’s fascination was more than just a few nasty late-night jokes. Paparazzi swarmed Spears’ home and her family, turning the singer into a tabloid punching bag. But when you’re a platinum-selling pop princess, the show goes on even when you desperately need an intermission. In the midst of madness, Spears began recording an album that would become her defining statement, 2007’s Blackout. Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums revisits the album at a time when Spears’ music — and the raw treatment she received from the public and the press — is being revisited and rethought in a big way. Collaborators and friends, from the A&R rep who was one of Spears’ closest allies to the producers who crafted visceral hits like “Piece of Me,” tell the story of how Spears’ made classic songs in the eye of a hurricane. The result was an album that stood as a middle finger to Spears’ critics and established a dark, danceable sound that influenced pop for years to come. Be sure to tune in on Amazon Music.

For the first 21 years of Nikki's life he was grinding it out on the streets as Frank Feranna. Broken family life, Bouncing from town to town couch to couch chasing a dream that only a handful of people ever achieve.

Growing up in the 70's in the Bay Area I was lucky to see some incredible live music. 1 band that really blew my young mind was The Tubes. The first time I saw them I couldn't believe what I was seeing and hearing. White Punks on Dope was a San Francisco Anthem and I was on board.

Over the years I would go on to see this band many times and I was always fascinated with the lead singer Fee Waybill. He is such an electric frontman and I feel like this band is massively underrated.

Today I sit down in the box office of one of the greatest Rock n Roll venues in America the Cow Palace located in San Francisco.

I recently was up in the Bay Area doing some Stand Up Comedy and Andrew Shreve reached out and said he works at the Cow Palace and asked if I would like to come take a tour and maybe do a podcast in the venue. I screamed YES YES YES and headed over to the venue for a full on tour of the very building that gave me all my Rock n Roll memories.

I know the building inside and out but to be able to sit down and hear the History from Andrew and Jeff Ewald was next level.

Everyone has that classic memory of some great concert they went to but take a second and think about the venue. So many of these classic venues are gone now unfortunately. The stories the Cow Palace walls could tell would be insane.

Jeff and I sat down in the legendary Box Office of the Cow Palace surrounded by a who's who of Autographs on the walls and dove into the history of this incredible Venue.

This was a dream come true and they even had my name on the Marque.

I hope you guys enjoy this little piece or rock history.

Today I sit down with Bay Area legend Jack Blades of Night Ranger and dive deep into his musical history.

Jack has been killing it for years starting all the way back in the 70's in his Rubicon days playing Cal Jam 2.

I was a young kid hanging out at rock clubs in the Bay Area watching bands like Night Ranger, Y&T, Huey Lewis and The News, Eric Martin and Gamma just kill it on stage nightly.

The Bay Area was rich with Music and I was very lucky to grow up in that time period.

Night Ranger has a new record out this Friday called ATBPO and I highly recommend it.
